Developed based in the former Sichuan Boiler Factory in Chengdu, Aux murs: Cracks as Corridors extends an ongoing investigation into walls as living archives. Rather than approaching cracks as signs of deterioration, the project understands them as spaces of circulation, where memories, affects and material histories continue to move.

Photography, surface scans, moving image, collective writing and screen printing unfold through an open-ended process that responds to the site and the encounters it makes possible. The resulting publication and film do not seek to document the factory exhaustively, but to remain close to its fragments, allowing them to generate new relationships and speculative readings.

Moving through the site became a way of listening. Each crack, trace and surface suggested another route, proposing the archive not as something preserved, but as something continually reactivated through attention, collective practice and shared acts of making.
